For more than 20 years, sustainability has resided at the heart of what we do and who we are.
There are many ways to define and interpret sustainability, especially where travel and tourism are concerned. But here, to us, sustainability means not only coexisting with our spectacular surrounds but protecting them and supporting our local community.
Our small, boutique resort strives to give more than we take. We hire (and train) local talent. Our 14 units are built exclusively from fallen timber and certified plantation wood. We generate 100% of our own power. We focus on personalized service and the guest experience, with a strong emphasis on local culture, traditions, and connection.
At El Remanso, we contribute. This is our core value – the goal that has sustained us for more than two decades and into the third generation of our family.
El Remanso is more than a list of values and accomplishments. This is your invitation to try something new – to step outside your comfort zone and venture deep into the rugged rainforest. To stand behind the principles you hold most dear: environmental protection, sustainable advocacy, and tourism that puts its influence behind the policies, ecosystems, and people who most need its support.
Through it all, our primary goals are to respect our local ecology & community, celebrate Costa Rican culture, and create memorable experiences for you, our guests. We would love to have you here!
