The Beach Trail, Tidal Pools &Lagoon

A 700 meter descent down a well-maintained trail that begins at the main lodge and continues all the way down to the pristine beach. The 15-minute walk down will take you past guest dwellings, through a plant arch, and onto natural earth “steps.” Signs and sounds of rainforest life surround you, from the ground to the treetops. Halfway down (or up) the trail, you can stop at “Mirablau,” a scenic lookout point over the Pacific. Once you’re at the beach, you can walk to your left to reach the tidal pools or to the right to visit the lagoon. When the tide is out, you can relax in the pools with the lulling sounds of the ocean waves crashing into the sandy surf. At the lagoon, where the freshwater river meets the saltwater of the Pacific Ocean, you might even see some other wildlife joining you. Wear sturdy shoes and allocate time for your return ascent. The going up will most definitely take you more time than the coming down!
